What is Uni 101?
In Uni 101, female undergraduate and master’s student volunteers run sessions for female 11th and 12th graders on applying to university, evaluating offers, and preparing for first year. UNI 101 consists of a three-part workshop spread throughout the school year, as well as one-on-one mentorship throughout the program. Students are welcome to participate whether they know they are university-bound or not!

In-person: Friday, October 2, 3 – 5 pm
Speakers: Student Panel, U of T Recruitment Officer
Session 2: How Do I Prepare for Next Year?
In-person: Friday, February 9, 3 – 5 pm (With a tour of the UofT St. George Campus)
- Scholarships, financial aid/Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP)
- Back-up plans, early acceptances, summer opportunities
- Maintaining mental health and balance in work, school, and life
Session 3: What Skills Do I Need for University Life?
In-person: Friday, May 3, 3 – 5 pm
A two-part university bootcamp to introduce and equip students to an array of practical skills.
- Part one: tutorials, labs, how to study, academic resources, planning a schedule, note taking, resumes, writing, etc.
- Part two: campus life, living alone, mental health, friendships, clubs, healthy habits, cooking, laundry, sleep hygiene, etc.
